Pāua has been treasured in New Zealand for centuries, and it is easy to understand why. Rough and unassuming on the outside, it holds within it some of the most breathtaking colour found in nature, with every piece entirely unique. This statement pendant is set in a beaded gold oval frame with a whale tail bail.
In Māori tradition, pāua shells are believed to hold the watchful presence of ancestors, and to wear one is to carry that connection with you. A reminder that you are seen, and that your own most beautiful depths are always worth looking for.
